Social media phishing

Phishing is also a type of malicious online identity theft, along with acquiring login credentials or account information by masquerading as a reputable entity, through either a fake or stolen identity. Therefore, social media users have been becoming one of the easiest targets for social engineers.

They can use links to fake websites that steal login and password details or other personal information or they can harvest supposedly unimportant personal details shared carelessly on social media.
