Appendix B. Installing and Setting Up Snow Leopard

Whether you are doing a fresh install or upgrading from an older version of Mac OS X, installing Mac OS X is easier than ever with Snow Leopard. To get started, insert the Mac OS X Snow Leopard Install DVD into your DVD drive on your Mac, and restart your computer from this disc (to start up your computer from a bootable CD or DVD, just hold down the C key on your computer as it starts up). If you simply upgrading, you can just insert the DVD and run the Snow Leopard installer to get started. The installer will walk you through the upgrade process in a few steps and get you taking advantage of the new features of Snow Leopard in no time.
