From Accepting to Understanding

The past 25 years have presented me with regular opportunities to engage in many diversity initiatives, most of which have failed miserably. I hesitate to say that they failed, because I know what this admission implies. Too many people receive the news of these failures and interpret them to mean that the purposes of diversity are flawed. They use this interpretation to interrupt, disrupt, and even terminate current and future projects. We need to promote diversity. When we do, we have a better workforce.
