This is where you create the systems and processes to ensure that your purpose becomes part of your organizational DNA. Your purpose should be so integrated that it no longer requires a team of champions, it has become the essence of who you are as an organization. Many organizations never get to this phase. Those who do create organizations that transcend their industries.

Hire and Recruit with Purpose

When you become a Noble Purpose company, you attract candidates who are drawn to your purpose. The most successful companies devote an entire interview to test for culture fit. This is how you determine whether the candidate is a purposeful person, and whether he is aligned with your purpose. You want to create a screening process that identifies candidates who are excited to be part of your purpose, and use their skills to activate it. Look at organizations like HubSpot who post their Culture Code on SlideShare. They do a separate interview just for culture, as does G Adventures and Hootsuite.

Your executive search teams should be even more intentional about using purpose as a screening tool. Executives who are not aligned with your purpose can have a chilling effect on your entire organization.
