With Gratitude

First and foremost I'd like to thank my mom, Margaret Davis, not only for helping with input on the book, but for her unconditional love, support, and encouragement. She is the strongest, most brilliant and compassionate woman I know.

Next I am deeply and forever grateful to my daughter, Jade Whaley, who has been by my side through the entire book, from the very beginning when it was just a concept thought up on a five-hour plane trip. Jade has supported, encouraged, poked holes, and challenged—giving me exactly what I needed. Not only is she a fantastic daughter, she's extremely talented and objective as well. I couldn't be more blessed.

My heartfelt appreciation also goes out to two people who were with me in the early stages of the book and were invaluable in helping me develop my book proposal and sample chapters—Ray Justice and Jennifer Loew; and to Gina Mangiemeli, who helped me with the start-up of my business and has been a friend and supporter ever since.
