According to the sector definitions for Baldrige, a small business has 500 or fewer paid employees. However, since the Baldrige Program began keeping these statistics (in 2004), the smallest Baldrige Award recipient has been Texas Nameplate, which had 43 employees when it won its second award in 2004. That’s fewer employees than there are pages in a Baldrige application!
