As Our Story Ends … and Begins

Finally, I suggest you create an accurate, hopeful self-talk statement to support you in your leadership journey—one sentence that will remind you why you’re working to become the kind of leader others want to follow and that it’s possible for you to do so. You may want to write it in your trusty (and by this time, well-filled) Leading notebook, or you may even want to make yourself a small laminated card with your self-talk sentence on it that you can slip into your purse or wallet. Every time you read it, remember that young boy who started the Leader journey with little more than the clothes on his back, a will to succeed, and an open heart and mind. You too can become the leader people will follow.
