How to Be Courageous

As in the previous chapters, I’ll deconstruct this quality so you can see how to recognize and develop it in yourself or others.

Leaders Who Are Courageous

1. Make necessary, tough choices
2. Put themselves at risk for the good of the enterprise
3. Do things that are personally difficult
4. Take full responsibility for their actions
5. Admit and apologize for mistakes

Once again, I encourage you to self-assess in each of these behaviors. For each of the five indicators of courage, note how well you think you do it.
