Summary

We define the managing the effort phase to be the period between completion of the initial wave of Black Belt training, and the point when we have trained everyone originally intended, and implemented all projects identified in your original deployment plan. This phase typically lasts about 18 months, although management of the effort lasts indefinitely. The critical transition that occurs here is from a new launch to a formal long-term initiative. The effort will become too large to manage informally, requiring the implementation of formal management systems and processes.
