Summary
We have seen that while Six Sigma brought huge tangible benefits to GE and Grace, other companies have failed to achieve the same level of success. Deciding to implement Six Sigma does not guarantee success; organizations must deploy it wisely to achieve the full benefits. There are obvious contrasts between the very successful and less successful Six Sigma deployments. These can be easily seen by comparing the lists on pages 30 and 35.
In the next chapter we will further compare and contrast these cases to clarify the key success factors for deployment.
