Evidence: Logic and Data

Cognitive evidence to support a given point of view is abundant, and leaders no longer have privileged access to that evidence. Clearly, the amount of information to be known is accelerating at a rate substantially faster than anyone’s ability to know it, and accessing that information is becoming easier. The world’s public, even in the most remote regions, has a wealth of data available. For that same reason, data doesn’t have the power to sway people like we once believed. This is leadership communication, not staff work, so the use of data, while necessary, is not the lever you are looking for. You are going for inspiration, so values and experience are more important for your purposes as a leader.
