Establishing Competence

As you develop your Guide, you will need to answer a number of questions for yourself and then for others. The framework for the Guide starts with the elements that display competence: clear purpose and credentials.

Clarity of Purpose

  • What is the problem?
  • What is the specific change you are proposing?
  • What one piece of evidence shows you and others a compelling need?
  • What value is represented by the change and what are the broadest implications?

The answers to these questions will transform change into progress; they will support your advocacy and your zeal. Ignoring these questions instead of answering them for yourself first and then for others could send you on a vector that might well have a substantially different end ...
