In this chapter I provide:

•  A description of what leadership means in practice, using two contrasting models of leadership.

•  A self-assessment questionnaire that will show you your leadership style preferences and their consequences.

Leadership in practice

We looked in the last chapter at what leadership is and when it is appropriate to use it. We also began by looking at the traits that great leaders demonstrate. This is follows one of the various theories of leadership that attempt to identify the common traits possessed by successful leaders. However, the list is ever-growing and no definitive list is possible.
