Innovation does not end but evolves. It requires successive improvement, in which lessons learned are constantly codified, adapted, and implemented. Leaders committed to innovation improvement constantly monitor the innovation. Product innovations have life cycles. As the life cycle for a new product slows, it behooves leaders to encourage ideas for a new round of product innovation. Strategic innovations also must evolve so that successful strategies in one time period or business evolve when new business conditions arise. Administrative innovations also have a life cycle, in which improvement in the administrative system must continually evolve.
