Level 4: Impact and Results

The fourth level of evaluation measures the impact of the learned and applied training competencies on the organization’s business. The key question explored with this level of evaluation is: Did the on-the-job application produce measurable results?

Level 4 evaluation is less interested in changed behavior itself than in whether the changed behavior led to tangible and positive outcomes for the business. For example, training participants provided the appropriate direction and support in the Exploration and Discovery phase of the change process, but has employee commitment to the change increased? Has employee anxiety decreased?
