A few weeks into the season, East Creek was—as expected—4–0. Their first four games were won with ease against opponents that were quite overmatched. The next couple of weeks promised a bigger challenge. Mike decided to stop by the end of practice Monday afternoon to watch a little and then take Billy home. The end of Monday practice was always a fun part of the week and many parents came by.

Coach Logan always used the last fifteen minutes of Monday practice to recognize the best performances from Friday night's game, and players, coaches, and parents all looked forward to it.
