Sunday afternoon was quiet and lazy until the doorbell rang. Mike opened the door and saw Tanya standing there, a huge platter in her hands, the contents hidden by foil. "Howdy, neighbor!"
"Hi, Tanya. Come on in." Stepping aside, he waved her in. "What do you have there?"
"These are my world famous cookies. Chocolate chip and oatmeal. They are out of this world and since you moved in I've felt so guilty that I haven't given you a proper welcome gift." She walked past Mike and straight for the kitchen. "These are fresh out of the oven. You and Billy are going to love them. They aren't really world famous but they are very good. They are the hit of every family reunion." She tore the foil off and the smell wafted through the kitchen. ...
