Chapter 4. CHAPTER 4
After two days of unpacking and ordering pizza in, Mike and Billy headed out to the small mall in town to look for back-to-school clothes and some gear Billy would need for football. On the way home, Mike suggested they stop at the burger stand and get some ice cream. Billy readily agreed. As they drove past the high school, Mike made a sudden turn into the gym parking lot.
"What are you doing, Dad?"
"I gotta check something out. It's been bugging me for days." He pulled into a parking spot close to the gym. There was a smattering of other cars in the lot but not too many people at the school. Probably just the janitor and some coaching staff around today, Mike thought.
