A little while later, later Mike and Billy were walking through the office of the second in charge at MMC, Tyler Garrett. "Good to see you, Tyler. You keeping the place running?"

"I sure am, boss man. Glad you made it to town in one piece. How do you like the weather?"

"Oh man, it's hot! And no air-conditioning at our house—got a window box, but it doesn't seem to make a bit of difference." He turned toward Billy. "Tyler, I'd like you to meet my son Billy. He's sixteen and will be a junior at the high school next year." They shook hands.

"Great to meet you, Billy. You look like your old man."

"Thanks, I guess," said Billy.
