Listen to others.

 

Fathers are always telling their children to listen carefully to what they are being told, but their true message is sometimes hidden beneath the surface. Dads try to teach us about the world through stories and personal experiences, told in their own words. As time goes on, we remember bits and pieces of those talks and wish we had been better listeners (and learners) so we could remember it all.

Listening is a critical job skill. We learn a great deal about people, about the organization, and about the industry by listening, and this can translate into improved performance.
