Don’t be late for dinner.

“Dinnertime!” your mother calls.

No response.

“Dinnertime!”

Still no response.

Finally, in total frustration, Mom warns, “If you don’t come to dinner right away…”

“I’ll be there in one minute,” you finally respond, as you go back to watching the TV show or doing whatever you were doing before. And so it goes in virtually every home. The age-old struggle of trying to get kids to come to the dinner table as soon as they’re called goes on and on.
