Tuck in your shirt.

Your mother probably reminded you from time to time to tuck in your shirt and pay attention to your appearance, particularly when you had to dress up for an important occasion. She wanted you to look your best and make a good impression on others. Your grooming and overall appearance said a lot about you and how you were raised, and this was important to Mom. It still is.

The 21st century workplace is less formal than it was in our parents’ generation. Business casual is now the norm. Business casual, however, doesn’t mean that looking presentable and polished isn’t still important. Image is important in the workplace, whether the standard attire is casual or business. Think about how others perceive you.
