Wear clean underwear, in case you’re in an accident.

Do you remember ever being told, “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”? Mom made sure we washed behind our ears (as if anyone was going to look there), changed our socks, and took a bath every day. Your mom may have also reminded you to put on clean underwear, just in case you got into an accident. (Her mom probably told her the same thing!) Her thinking was that we never really know when someone else is going to judge us by what we have on, so we should be prepared to make a good impression at all times and under any circumstance.
