Greetings Cherokees, friends, and people of goodwill. A warm welcome to everyone, especially those who have traveled thousands of miles to join us in this annual reunion of the Cherokee family. It is my hope that you enjoy a weekend of warmth and a renewal of relationships with family and friends.

It is a great honor to stand before you today. You have given me the opportunity to serve you this last year, and I wish to report on our progress and plans for the future.
