Most individuals recognize Martin Luther King, Jr. as a civil rights leader. Below are links to the video and the text of his “I have a dream” speech. Watch the video and/or read the text. As you listen to or read his speech, determine the source of his power as a leader.Write down examples to support your response.

Consider the case of Richard Branson, CEO of Virgin, a conglomerate of several businesses. As you review the information below, write down the leader attributes he has. Answer these questions as you review the information below:

  1. What are his leadership attributes?
  2. What do you think Branson’s definition of leadership includes? Does he consider followers and contexts? What evidence do you have to support your response?
  3. What are Branson’s sources of leader power? What evidence do you have to support your response?
