A Mid-Career Leadership Curriculum for High-Potential Leaders

David P. Campbell

Many leading organizations have established a leadership course for individuals deemed to have the potential to rise to the top ranks. Examples include Motorola, General Electric, IBM, and Caterpillar in the corporate world and the American College of Life Underwriters, the various military command and general staff colleges, and the Federal Executive Institute in the nonprofit world.

The courses have a wide range of names: The President's Council, The Mid-Management Forum, The XYZ Corporation Leadership Lab, or perhaps something like The Starved Rock Program or The Hamilton Park Seminar, denoting the conference center where the program was conducted.
