Feedback specialists expend a tremendous amount of energy during the sessions, frequently because of the need to make quick adjustments. The ability to adjust was mentioned repeatedly in the interviews. For instance, one specialist commented: “No matter how well prepared you are, there is always valuable information that comes out during the session. When this happens, I need to integrate this information on the run and adjust the flow of the session as I go.” The processing of feedback at this point is always a collaborative effort, but participants vary as to how much new information they reveal.
