In its simplest form, an Internet-based 360 process consists of a survey loaded at a Web site. Security provisions are built in to ensure that only invited raters with valid PINs can gain access to this Web page. Additional precautions are taken to ensure that the cumulative responses are assigned to the correct participants. Many aspects of the procedure, such as preparing the organization to participate in the process, are currently still handled in the old-fashioned way, off-line.
