Scenario 1: Banking on Differences

Miriam Setlee is a short, brown-skinned woman who has an undergraduate degree in finance from Ohio State University and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School of Business. She has been with the bank for five years and is its only African American loan officer in the region. Miriam is in a meeting with loan officers, including Ron Salem and Lisa Williams, from several of the bank's branches, and with Karl Betskar, the regional loan director. The group is talking about ways to expand the bank's loan base.
