Personal Definitions of Success

For most of the women we spoke with (although by no means all), their definitions of success were multifaceted. Obviously it's important to all of them to achieve high standards at work, but women also spoke about having a rich and varied identity. For them, success came from personal relationships, doing a good job of raising one's children, contributing to society, being financially comfortable, and being comfortable with oneself.
