Nothing but Net
All petty complaining aside, this assignment has been good for me. Writer and consultant William Bridges says that renewal comes from letting go of something, and I have enjoyed giving up my CCL responsibilities for a year. I have also enjoyed the intellectual challenge of teaching and the contact with the students. All the same, I have had enough of a taste of the academic life to know that this is not my fantasy job. For one thing, my academic credentials fall short of those required for the work, and I have no ambition to pursue a terminal degree. For another thing, I have a feeling that the work could become a bit too routine for me.
