FIRST-NAME BASIS
On the way home from the game, I was sure Thomas would be upset that the coach had yelled at him. I was mentally preparing my response when Thomas volunteered, “I really like our coach.”
“Why?” I asked, hoping I didn't sound as surprised as I felt.
“Because,” Thomas said, “he already knows my name.”
