WHAT THEY WANT

Seeking to find out what organizations and leaders need to do to keep their key people from the two predominant working generations, Generation X and Baby Boomer, CCL conducted a study as part of its Emerging Leaders Research Project (see the sidebar on page 10). The preliminary results offer a valuable tool for organizations that want to do all they can to retain their key talent for the challenging times ahead. The data also might come as a surprise to those who would expect to find significant differences between the factors important to retaining members of the two generations.
