HYPOCRISY ALERT

Don't get me wrong: an entertaining TV show about leaders is probably good for leadership, even if it is unrealistic. The medical profession probably hasn't suffered because of ER, and police work forged ahead in spite of NYPD Blue. Chris Matthews, the host of MSNBC's political show Hardball, told TV Guide that The West Wing “stirs up the old ideal of the president as the nation's great leader, someone who sets the course for a better country.” The problem is that it also requires you to suspend reality for an hour each week.
