A WIDER VIEW

Now that you have a better idea of what stress is, how executives and others tend to respond to it, and some possible ways of coping with it, you can look beyond what stress means for you as an individual leader to its implications for your organization. Stress-related health costs can be significantly reduced by ensuring a supportive work environment, giving people at all levels of the organization more personal control and opportunities to use the full range and depth of their abilities, providing opportunities for development, and making it easier for employees to engage in regular exercise. Creating a workplace that keeps the lid on stress in these ways is one of the biggest challenges of leadership.
