Knowing that this issue of Leadership in Action would reach you not long after the presentation of the 74th annual Academy Awards, I thought I'd create my own fantasy Oscar for the best leadership movie of 2001. But I ran into a snag. I have three sons who are under seven years old, so my viewing last year was limited almost exclusively to kids' movies such as Shrek; Monsters, Inc.; and Jimmy Neutron: Boy Genius.
So I decided to expand the field of leadership movies to include titles from the past, with certain parameters:
• Only movies released in the past twenty years were eligible.
• They had to be available at the video store nearest my house.
