ASKING FOR HELP

Consultants and human resource practitioners have told CCL that the organizations with which they work are encountering issues of social identity conflict more and more frequently. These practitioners want to know if there are any interventions they can use. Leaders can consider the strategies outlined in this article in combination with a thorough assessment of their specific situations, including their own strengths and weaknesses and the characteristics and needs of the groups with which they are dealing. But each leader should always keep in mind the context of his or her organization's values, rules, structures, cultures, and goals.
