Also making her way to work is Tan Sri Dato' Sri Dr. Zeti Akhtar Aziz, who has been governor of Malaysia's central bank, Bank Negara Malaysia, since 2000. Her career spans several senior positions in Bank Negara Malaysia in the areas of monetary and financial policies and reserve management. Zeti also presided over a financial sector master plan for developing the Malaysian financial system and consolidating domestic banking institutions over a ten-year period. She has also been involved in the development of Islamic banking in both the domestic and international arenas and played a role in the creation of the Islamic Financial Services Board (IFSB), chairing its steering committee.
