Laura C. Leviton is a senior program officer with the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, an organization that seeks to improve the health and health care of all Americans. A leading writer on evaluation methods and practice, particularly in the area of disease prevention, she has overseen evaluations in most of the foundation's areas of focus. Leviton was president of the American Evaluation Association in 2000. She is a coauthor of Foundations of Program Evaluation: Theories and Practice (Sage, 1990), a leading text on evaluation.
