Leadership must also be learned through experience. With educational leadership opportunities serving as a backdrop for more experiential ones, I continue browsing through my high school scrapbook. After preparation through a summer at the National Young Leaders Conference (sponsored by the Congressional Youth Leadership Council), I lived in Israel for three months with fellow juniors from the American Hebrew Academy. We lived in a boarding school environment, took classes, and learned Jewish history through weekly excursions around the country.
