PARENTAL INFLUENCE

One way to view the Millennials’ distinctiveness is through the lens of their Baby Boomer parents. Consider this description of Boomers, again from Wikipedia: “Leaders of this generation tend to reevaluate their lives in midlife, and many focus desperately on the successes and failures of their children. Increasingly, the tendency to ‘micromanage’ the lives of their children is expressed in this generation to a significant degree. . . . Boomers seek to improve society through children.”
