The Health Care Crisis, Close to Home

I had not planned to work from home this morning, but I am having a health care crisis of my own. Two of my three sons are too sick to go to school today. The series of events that led to them staying home followed a predictable course. Thomas, my ten-year-old, came downstairs first this morning, complaining that he felt sick. I reacted, as many dads do, by conducting a rigorous screening for the fake factor. Halfway through my interrogation, Thomas proved—by deed—that he was indeed sick.
