Leaders Who Encourage Get Their Mojo Working

Some people have the mojo. Bill had it. He was a talented, bright, exceptionally experienced executive vice president for whom I worked early in my career. Many individuals I have worked with since had similar pedigrees, but Bill was different. Something unified his leadership qualities so that their sum was greater than the individual parts.

With Bill running the show I felt stronger, bolder, and more capable of handling responsibilities cast before me. Many co-workers echoed this feeling—his presence brought out the A game in each of us. Bill had mastered the art of encouragement.
