THE SWEET SPOT

Self-promotion is a key ingredient of leadership effectiveness and longterm success. But like most behaviors it can be overdone or underdone. To develop strong, effective self-promotion skills, leaders need to find a sweet spot between over-the-top, obnoxious bragging and being overly modest.

To find this sweet spot, leaders should stay focused on the value of their work. Leaders who maintain this focus will neither go overboard with bragging nor hesitate to stand in the spotlight when credit is deserved. images
