LEVELS OF MASTERY

Mastery is a progressive process in which the lessons learned from experience build on each other. The developmental goal is to increase mastery by sharpening or deepening your existing skills and ability to lead.

In many technical arenas, mastery is fairly easy to gauge. Skill deepens with the addition of training, experience, and time.

To increase leadership mastery, the first step is to identify what needs to be learned or improved. You'll want to look at this from two perspectives: the needs of the organization and your own needs.
