The Question of Transferability

TRANSFERABILITY is one of the big questions that has surrounded the bold, practice-oriented, case-in-point approach to teaching adaptive leadership that Heifetz and his colleagues have developed. There are two dimensions to this question. The first, explored in chapter 6, concerns whether the learning is readily translated into professional practice. Here, we turn to the second dimension: Can the approach itself be used effectively by anyone other than Ronald Heifetz?
