Story is the stuff of life
Story speaks to all our themes
Stories are how we access the patterns of life. Stories name us. The path of influence through relationship is the path of a new story. Stories show us most clearly the dignity and brilliance of people. Stories have a way of bringing us back to the things that matter most.
At the widest scope, story is our key to culture. More personally, we know ourselves through our stories. Anthony Giddens draws on the crucial role of story in our thinking and in our identity when he speaks of how ‘(we) integrate events … and sort them into the ongoing “story” about the self’.[1
