Chapter Nine. Smart Layers

In recent versions of Photoshop (CS2 and CS3), Adobe has started doing some really neat things with layers. They’re beginning to make them indestructible. This means that you can now do things to layers like transforming, resizing, warping, and replacing—nondestructively. This always gives you an out and always gives you a way back, in case something in your image changes as time goes on. In Photoshop CS3, you can even apply a filter to a layer and then go back to change the filter settings at any time.
