Using a CompactDAQ

Relative to the NI USB-6000, the CompactDAQ is more complex and more expensive. However, it allows users to buy different kinds of signal conditioning modules for different data acquisition needs. In this recipe, we will demonstrate how to use a cDAQ-9138 with a NI 9211 thermal couple module and a NI 9234 acceleration module.

How to do it…

After working with a NI USB-6000, we will write a program that controls a CompactDAQ with a thermal couple module and an acceleration module. Even though the instruments are different, programming a USB-6000 and a CompactDAQ is very similar.
