A type-def control is a centralized control that propagates its changes to the associated controls in the program. A cluster is usually created as a type-def control to avoid rework, and it is used to pass data in a program. It is a great way to anticipate data structure changes in the future. If the appearance of the type-def needs to be preserved, with respect to the exact placement of each element, a type-def should be made into a strict type-def. In this recipe, we will create a program that passes data with a type-def cluster.
